Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust, Bristol Bears Community Foundation, The Conservation Volunteers have been busy giving the wonderful green spacees in Lockleaze the much needed love they deserve!
The ‘Really Wild Lockleaze’ Project empowers local residents to enhance their surroundings, fostering beauty and wildlife while boosting health and enjoyment. Today, the Bristol Bears Community Foundation planted native trees and wetland flowers in attenuation ditches and ponds, enriching habitats for butterflies, bees, birds, and frogs. This exciting initiative promises tangible benefits for area wildlife!
Before Christmas, students from the Bristol Bears Hitz Project programme helped clear extensively brambled areas around the centre with other local residents, laying the foundations for the group to later create new wooded areas around the drainage ditches behind the all-weather-pitches.
If you want to come and make your mark on tomorrow’s community, come on down to the centre every Thursday from 11am (until the end of March)
